Software Developer

Description

The Software Developer will play a key role in the Analytic Products division of Target Analysis, creating innovative, packaged analytic products that marketers in large non-profit organizations can use to improve their direct marketing/fundraising programs.

These products leverage large volumes of transactional data stored in Targets data warehouse to deliver robust OLAP-based analytic applications for interactive reporting, analysis, and data mining. The Analytics division is an exciting area for software development, responsible for creating the next generation of analytic products for the company.

The company's development environment is rich in tools and technologies from both Oracle and Microsoft. Many of the projects will involve working with VB and VBA in Excel/Word to create powerful front-end applications for our clients which access data from both Oracle relational and Microsoft Analysis Services multi-dimensional databases.

Qualifications

  • A bachelors or masters degree
  • 5+ years of application development experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Visual Studio .NET and/or VBA/Office
  • Some experience in OLAP technologies, including Microsoft Analysis Services desired
  • Some experience with SQL and Oracle PL/SQL desired
  • Some experience with ASP.NET and web application development desired
  • Demonstrated skills in strong code design, data warehousing, RAD software development methodologies, code performance tuning and benchmarking, and software quality testing
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, an ability to effectively prioritize and organize multiple tasks
  • Self-motivation and drive to work effectively as part of a team, and to fully learn how our customers use our applications.
  • A track record of experience and demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality solutions
