Database Research Analyst

Description

The Database Research Analyst position is for someone with very sharp analytical skills who loves working with data. As the Database Research Analyst, you will play a key role in both the Acquisition and House-File Predictive Analytics divisions of Target Analytics. You will need a strong background in quantitative research and strong spreadsheet skills in order to analyze the component data and mailing results from our innovative predictive modeling programs.

Targets modeling products leverage a very large data warehouse of donor-based transactional, philanthropic and demographic data to inform marketing decisions for our non-profit clients. As an Analyst you have the challenge of studying, distilling, deconstructing and interpreting the results of direct mail campaigns that use these products and assisting senior analysts in their work. You will also be called upon to answer general research questions about our data and products.

Your primary responsibility will be to analyze the performance of our two core modeling products: Acquisition Lists and Target Tags. These products are used by our clients to increase the effectiveness of their direct mail campaigns by identifying the most valuable donors to contact. You will provide technical assistance and analysis to senior analysts and the Product Manager and may be required to present reports that describe your findings. To do this, you will need to use Oracle database features to query and manipulate the data in order to examine how our predictive models performed. Strong knowledge of the analytic features of spreadsheets is also a must.

New questions come up every day, and it will be your responsibility to follow through until appropriate answers are found.
